The ceramics gallery houses art work and items for purchase that are handmade by local and international artists.
As you might guess there were lots of unique and varied pieces of plates, bowls, vases, dishes, and art work in the shop for purchase - all handmade.
The kiln and the pottery ready for the potters hand to complete the job. Another educational stop for my daughters. Weaving in the knowledge folks - the world is a great book to read indeed.
An old fashioned potters wheel. I found it interesting - as if a piece of history was inviting me in to take a look around.
When I was there they were putting the finishing touches on their lovely art studio where you can paint your own pottery. The studio is open 7 days a week from 9 am - 6 pm. Due to the turn around time of 7-10 days for the glazing and firing, if you make an artwork while visiting for your cruise then you will need to have it shipped home to you. Reservations are not required but times are posted on their Facebook page.
Another souvenir you can take home - with advance notice - that will help you always remember Bermuda and the Royal Dockyard is a ceramic house sign. You can use these for a decorative touch to your entry way inside or outside your home, perhaps on the back porch, or other favorite spot in your home.
There are two sizes you can pre-order and pick up upon arrival of your cruise. Production time for these beautiful signs are 4-6 weeks and if you order early then there is no need to pay costly shipping back to the US. Click the photo above for the website link to place your order.
