Our daughters (ages 12 & 11) were enamored with the process and the former educator in me was beaming on the inside. Any time I can weave in learning then I'm thrilled! This was certainly something they had never experienced before and that is a goal of traveling - to experience new things.
Venetian trained Maestro shows how the process is done to create plates, bowls, vases, and other works of art that you can purchase and take home. There is a Plexiglas wall between guests and the craft maker for protection but you can feel the heat as you get closer to the viewing area.
The prefect treat to take home as a souvenir and relive each year is the Christmas tree ornament. These were really beautiful and each year we place it gently on our tree is a time when we say to each other - "remember when..." I hope you will bring home one of these for your Bermuda souvenir.
Want to learn more about this lovely shop before you see it in person? Then check out their website: Dockyard Glassworks and see a video on the process.
Until next time...
