3 Ways to Carry Your Cruise Card

11/21/2017

When you get on board your cruise ship you will be given a cruise card like the one below.  Because the cruise ship is a cashless system - everything is paid via your ship board account, much like a hotel card, you will need this with you to obtain beverages or make any purchases on the ship.  It's also your cabin key to get back in your stateroom.  You have a couple of options to carry this around with you.
LANYARDS - like the one pictured above are one way to carry your cruise card such as the photos above.  These work great for tweens and teens and many adults prefer them as well.  There are lanyards for purchase on the ship, or you can pick up fun themed ones at Party City or other stores.  Some cruise lines give these out once you reach a certain level in their rewards membership - much like our Silver Club member below.

HOLE PUNCH - if you have a lanyard but no plastic envelope to hold the card then no worries.  Ask guest services if they have a hold punch so you can attach it to your lanyard.  On the Allure of the Seas the hold punch is sitting on a table at guest services for guests to use.

CARD HOLDER - These handy pouches are great for carrying around your smartphone AND your cruise card.  They have an adhesive backing which sticks to the phone and you simply put your card in the pouch.  It's easy to put in your pocket or bag.  After the cruise I still use this for taking my debit card or license with me when I don't want to carry my purse around.  The down side is if you have a pop-socket then it competes for space on your phone.
I hope this has helped in planning your exciting cruise.  Now get out there and make great memories!  We did!
Cheers,  Judy
