HS Dining Overview
The Hollywood Studios theme park is like the Magic Kingdom in that it has more counter service (quick service) than sit-down table service restaurants.
There is such a large variety that there is something for everyone - even Vegans.
There has been a lot of changes to the restaurants and menus as this park is under huge renovations for Star Wars land and Toy Story Land.
Our 'go-to" place of Pizza Planet, where everyone could find something, is no longer available until Toy Story land opens up.
The 50's Prime Time Cafe is a throw back to the 50's with mama pot roast and diner style environment. Ask for the ketchup. ;0) It can be tough to get reservations at this restaurant, however, I have a TIP for you.
If you can't get a reservation but you for sure want to dine here then an alternative is to try the Tune-In Lounge near Echo Lake – it has a full bar and the 50’s Prime Time Café menu are also available to partake there. You may not get the full affect of dining at the Cafe but they are linked so you can enjoy the environment. (see photos right)
The Brown Derby is a great restaurant but it is higher in price. Here you feel like you've stepped into the world of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. No Reservations? The patio lounge is available on a 1st come 1st serve basis and opens at noon with smaller portions.
Another huge favorite is the Sci-Fi Dine In theater. This is a neat restaurant that takes you back to the days of the drive-in movie theater where your table is a 50's vehicle and there are old reruns of Sci-Fi shows.
Need something for everyone? Then consider the ABC Commissary. This serves a variety of dishes that you would expect like burgers and chicken salads. TIP: There is ONE wall plug for charging your phone that is on the left as you walk through the doors and to the right side wall mid way down.
Toward the Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster you will find Anaheim Produce and Fairfax Faire (meat lovers paradise - Vegans stay away).
